Sales of "Memories" a book atributed to the lifetimes achievement of the late Vernon Hurford and sponsored by Llanelli Town Council recently was able to donate over £1300 each to both Radio BGM and the Ty Bryngwyn hospice . As Town Mayor Cllr Mike Francis prepared for his end of term of office as Town mayor he was delighted that the Town council had been able to become involved with the publication and that two very worthy causes were beneficiaries..

Communities @One is a Welsh Assembly Government initiative to help people in Communities First areas make the most of new technology. The project is funded by the European Union and the Welsh Assembly Government and is administered by the Wales Co-operative Centre.

Radio BGM has been fortunate to have been awarded almost £13,000 in order to develop a facility and provide a series of courses which it is hoped a great deal of people will directly benefit from throughout 2007.

If you feel that some radio skills training would benefit you or someone you know ideally from within the Communities First Areas in Llanelli please get in touch studio@radiobgm.org.uk

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by at our stand in the St elli shopping centre on April the 7th many of whom put money in our collection box which made our treasurer a happy man.

We were also hard at work promoting our Radio Skills course and our newly developed facility which proved a real hit with people from all ages. A big thanks also to Communities First Felinfoel for their assistance and to the St Elli centre Management for their help and assistance in making the day such a huge success, and to all our volunteers who helped out .

We raised a fantastic total of £209.16 that almost double the figure we managed at last years event.
