Hospital Radio in good health in 2019
Llanelli’s hospital radio is celebrating an exciting start to 2019 after receiving two national award nominations.
The radio station which began broadcasting in 1973 to the old Llanelli General and since 1990 to both the Prince Philip Hospital and now online recently received two nominations from the Hospital Broadcasting Association for
Best Promotion and Best Special Event following the radio station’s coverage of the NHS 70th Birthday celebrations in July 2018.
Chairman of Radio BGM, Dave Hurford said:
“This really is an exciting time for us and incredibly grateful to receive these national nominations and we are certainly looking forward to the awards evening on March 30th.”
The Hospital Broadcasting Awards are the yearly national awards which celebrate the best in hospital radio broadcasting across the UK. The awards ceremony this year will be held at a star-studded evening in Stoke-on-Trent.
“Radio BGM is always on the lookout for new volunteers and we would love to hear from anyone who can spare us a few hours a week to help out with presenting shows, raising money or engaging with our listeners in the Prince Philip Hospital. Anyone who wishes to find out more about volunteering for Radio BGM should get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.”
